Before the Year Closes: A Few Tax Questions Worth Asking Now

Tax planning has a way of sneaking up on people. By the time you prepare your return in March or April, many of the most meaningful opportunities are no longer available. Many of the best year-end tax moves need to be considered while there is still time to act, which is why the final stretch of the calendar year is often the right moment to have a thoughtful conversation with your CPA.

Do we have the capability to eliminate booms and busts in economic activity? The answer in my judgment is no, because there is no tool to change human nature. Too often people are prone to recurring bouts of optimism and pessimism.
